I went to the doctor yesterday and got antibiotics for a sinus infection. My face hurt soooo bad. I felt like i got punched right under each eye..ugh. I started amoxicillin yesterday and I think it's working. I'm not totally better but it doesn't hurt as much. And she gave me some cough medicine for nighttime because I hadn't sleep in like 6 nights..and it worked like a charm. OMG. I slept better last night than I had in a while. So nice.

Ooh..speaking of which..I should take some now..This stupid cough acts up at night. It's not in my chest, it's just the stuff from my sinuses dripping down and making me cough. Ugh. sorry..gross.

I bought Quinn an Elmo potty today! hahaha..I might return it, because it talks, and I think it might scare him. I'm not goint to start potty training him yet, but I figured it would be good to have around and just encourage to sit on it, or whatever. Someone gave us their copy of "Once Upon a Potty" a couple months ago and he looooooves it. It's so funny. He wants to read it all the time, and he loves the part where they flush the poo poo down the toilet. And he always runs to the bathroom and goes "bye bye!". If he hears one of flush the toilet, he gets all excited and runs over and goes "bye bye"..haha. And he says "poopoo" now when we get to that page. Or he'll just flip it to that page and say "poo poo". Why is that already funny to him? hahah.. Anyway, I got the potty and I showed it to him tonight and he didn't want anything to do with it at first. And then a little while later he went to sit in and it he activated the little Elmo thing and it said "Congratulations!" or something, and he was like "What the?"...so I don't know. I dont' want him scared to go near the thing, you know.

i haven't written a Quinn post in so long. There are so many amazing things he's been doing lately, but I can't remember them when I come to write them down!!

The other day we were looking at a puzzle he has- Oh! He does his puzzles!! And he's really good at them! That's one thing!

So, we were doing his puzzle and there is a circle that is a sun, and I was saying "the sun! the sun" and he kept doing some weird thing with his hands, like rubbing them together, and saying something weird, like "itsa itsa izzzaz"..And I don't know what made me do it, but I started singing "the itsy bitsy spider" and that was what he wanted! He wanted me to sing the Itsy Bitsy spider!! It was so cute! I guess "the sun" made him think of "Up came the sun, and dried up all the rain"..So it was really cute and exciting. And I sang it a few times and he signed "more! more!" so I sang it some more. So now when I put him to bed I sing it to him after I put him in his crib and he thinks it is hilarious! LIke he laughs hysterically..It's so funny.

He also loves "wow wow wubzy!". I have no idea what that show is about, but he walks around saying "Wahh wah wuh" and points at the TV. Oh, and he says "Tee Tee" or "tee vee"..and points at the TV. It's really bad. I put the TV on too much for him..I just keep saying "no tv right now..sorry" and he puts his hands up and goes "all done!"..Oh, and then when "wow wow wubzy" is over, "Olivia" comes on and he goes "Owilllwilla", which means Olivia. Ok..Can you tell I think he is just the cutest thing ever?!?!?

 

i'm home again today..My stomach is totally fcuked up..WTF? I have been nausous all day and had really bad..umm..stomach problems..oh my god. I feel like i am having menstraul cramps, too, but that's not for another week or so..ugh. This is awful. I just ate a frozen pizza because I thought I needed some food in my stomach. I think it might actually be helping. Or maybe it's laying here with the computer on my lap..it's kind of like a heating pad.

Of course, being nauseous made me wonder if i was pregnant, but I don't think I would be nauseous this early..I'm pretty sure that's not it. And then I wondered if it's related to this cold I've had, but I don't think so. Oh, and the last two nights I've had this horrible cough keeping me up at night. And in the morning it is just awful. For about an hour I have to cough, cough, cough to get all this shit out of my chest. Ugh. I took a half an ambian last night which helped, but then I thought maybe that was why i was so nauseous this morning. I'm pretty that wasn't it, either.

Well, anyway. I just want this nausea to go away!!!

I can't look at FB or LJ at work, and most nights i am so tired by the time I put Quinn to bed and eat dinner that I don't really look at the internet..or I do, but I can't muster the energy to write thoughtful comments or messages.. I feel sad because I love all you guys and consider you my friends!!!
It's nice being home today b/c I am catching up on what's going on in everyone's life. Hmmm..another reason to take a vacation day each week!! :)

I just realized i could have gotten it cheaper at Target! I paid $19.99 for it..it's only $16.99 at Target..haha.
It's pretty cheesy..but Quinn loves it!

Wow..that's a lot!

Ok, so after some discussion, we have concluded the following;

The funnest wedding (not counting ours :)) was Jen and Steve's in Mexico! (Close second, Tricia and Bryan in SF)

Lamest was Evan's..

Fastest ceremony ever- Greg and Holly (5 minutes, tops)

Weirdest- Kentucky!!!

The Most awesome experience overall - Sweden!!!

I am soooo full. I just stuffed my face with meatloaf that Sean made..Whoa.

I am going to the doctor tomorrow to see what she thinks about the weird spotting. Alsooo..I'm having some stuff (milk? Colostrum?) leaking out of my boobs..It's probably totally normal and just my boobs going back to normal after nursing for a long time..but it's a little weird. It's yellow..Not milky white or clear..Yellow. Gah. Sometimes it just leaks out and I'll look down and my shirt will have little wet spots (only when I'm wearing my PJ's with no bra..If i have a bra on I don't notice it)..And then of course I have to squeeze my nipple to see if more comes out, and it does..and it's yellow. I'm sure it's fine, but I want to see what the doctor thinks. When Sean and I first started trying to get pregnant, we were in Italy and my boobs starting leaking then..It completely freaked us out. We looked all over the Cinque Terra for an internet cafe so we  could google, which of course freaked us out even more! haha..Anyway, when I got home I finally went to the doctor and it turned out I had high pro-lactin..who knows why. It went down on it's own, but maybe it's high again. I did have a TON of milk when I was nursing so maybe I am just a high prolactin kind of girl. The only thing that is different now is that it's yellow stuff coming out. But maybe it's just old milk or something? Huh..I dunno..

What else.

I have "Old Person's Disease" (OPD)..Sean diagnosed me. It's that neverending sore throat and earache and feeling like I am getting sick but not really getting sick. I am either getting another cold or I have allergies. it's gotta be allergies. Geez. I have a very long list of things I need to see the doctor about. I also reinjured my wrist the other night. I fell on it in college (!) and every now and then I tweak it and it hurts. It's all swollen and sore. I have no idea what I ever did to it in the first place (I mean, I know how I hurt it, but I don't know what I actually did to it..sprained it? Strained a ligament? I don;'t know..). but it hurts like a beyatch.

Ok. This is boring.

I also have a list of things Quinn does right now and things he likes. I should put that in another post!

The curtains are up! And they keep that room nice and dark!

We put Quinn down at 8:00 last night, curtains drawn, door closed, no dog allowed..and he slept til 6:30!!! Whooo hoo!!! Amazing how different 6:30 feels compared to 5:30!!

Murphy even slept on his dog bed in our room all night. And he didn't wake us up at 5:00 to get on the bed..how weird. Awesome.

Quinn is the cutest thing ever. He is taking more and more steps. It's soooo cute. We mostly have to convince him to do it, but once in a while he'll be standing, holding on to something, and he'll spontaneously let go and take a few steps. Sooo cute.

He also is chatting up a storm. He says Mama, bah-bah (which I thought was baby, but now I think is bubbles..He is obsessed with bubbles!)..He says "dah" for dog.. What else. He just tried to say Snake and tractor..Oh, he has said "wah-wah" a couple times, for water. He definitely tries to mimic us when we say words. It is amazing how their little brains work.

I got kind of drunk yesterday. It was really fun. We went to Simone and Andy's and hung out in the pool. Lana took Quinn for a few hours so we were able to relax on our own. Drinking is fun :) Especially during the day..in the sun..in a pool :)
I wore my SPF 50, so I am still nice and pale :)

I spoke with my boss yesterday. There may be a position available for me in May/June..

This is good, b/c I would continue to have health coverage, and that is one thing that has been really stressing me out. Health insurance is ridiculously expensive, and add to that the fact that I have endometriosis, am on Lexapro and have had a melonoma and I will probably be denied fby most insurance providers anyway. If I get approved, I'm sure it will cost a fortune. So I am open to taking this job they have for me. On one hand, I was looking forward to this lay-off givine me the push I needed to leave AT&T...Buuuuut, at the same time, a job is a job..and money is money. Hmmm..

My friend's husband is an animator at Lucasfilm and he gave us a tour last night. It was sooo cool! We got to see all kinds of props and artwork used in the Starwars movies, and other movies..Really cool!

This does sound like me, but I believe more than this would say I do..Or at least I *want* to believe in something. I want there to be something bigger than me, you know. Hmm...I think there is...

Ok, I keep editing this to add something..
But I just wanted to add that having a baby really makes me believe that there is something. I know that sounds trite..but it's true..

My friend just started a group on Facebook called "Catherine is a facebook junkie"..hahahaha..That's pretty funny. But it made me think, he must be on there a lot if he sees all my status updates and comments..he just doesn't ever comment on anything. He is a stealth facebooker..haha. I know his little tricks.

We actually went to the Cal game today. We went into the game for about 10 minutes, but we made it inside! It was actually a fun day. We were super late to the tailgate, well, we missed the whole thing..and it was pouring rain..And Quinn seemed hungry and I tried to feed him in the car twice but he was too distracted and just wanted to look around in the car, so he didn't eat..but it was a fun day! Really! We hung out with  a couple of Sean's friends, one of whom's wife had a baby two months ago. We stopped by their house in Berkeley on the way to the game, and their baby looked so small! Crazy what a difference four months makes. She was saying she saw a week old baby the other day and it made her nostalgic. I totally knew what she meant. We saw our friend's newborn the other day and I don't even remember Quinn being that small! It's so crazy. 

anyway, it was pretty fun. I'm glad we made the effort and went.

We are making beef stew for dinner now. And I went to the book store and bought a couple new books. I'm excited for the Curtis Sittenfeld one.

Alright..well, better get back to Facebook. :)

Today was one of those days..blah..I was in my pajamas until 3:00.

I have been so tired and I didn't sleep well last night. I didn't pump before bed, so by 1:00am my boobs were hurting, and I tossed and turned until 3:00am when I finally got up and pumped to relieve myself..Quinn woke up at 4:45, so I fed him and went back to bed..but couldn't sleep. OH well..Better luck tonight! So Sean and I were both grumpy today and Quinn's naps were hit or miss..He slept really well this morning but then after that not so good. It's weird,  though, because as I try to remember how the day went, I can't remember anything..When did he cry? What happened? I have no idea..I can't remember..weird how that happens.

Sean and I keep arguing about what is bothering Quinn, too. I think it's teething..he doesn't. I don't know. Same old story..could be overtired, could be teething..hmm..And I have no idea when I am supposed to give him tyelnol. Wait for real crying? Or just whining? I hate to think that he is uncomfortable and I'm not doing anything to help him. ugh! Giving him teething toys seems to help, so I just keep giving him those when he whines. The plastic keys seem to be the best, because he can hold onto them without dropping them, and the actual key part is a smooth rubber and he seems to really like that in his mouth.

Picked up my pathology report at the dermatologists. Pretty scary to see the words "Malignant skin cancer" in writing next to name...But it also said "melanoma in situ", which I googled. It means "stage 0 melanoma", meaning the mole has melanoma but it has not spread to surrounding tissue. Still can't wait to get that taken care of! And hear me now, no more sun for me! 

Anyway...Couple cute things I need to post about!

• Quinn reached out to Murphy tonight and got all excited..and went "uhnnnnaaaaah...baaaaaahhhhh"...he was clearly trying to say "Dog" ...lol..
• He always reaches for that fish mobile...He is obsessed with that thing, I tell you. He reached for it today and made noises and laughed..He loves it..
• and he HAS said what sounds like "mama"...I know he's not really saying it, but it is still pretty freaking exciting when he makes that noise. Sean has heard it,  too...He goes "mahmah"."...He's putting lots of vowels and consanants together..."nahhh...baaaahhh...guuhh"...stuff like that. Ohhhh..so awesome!!! I am going to be so excited when he actually says a word, forget about him actually saying MAMA!!! I'll die :)

I think we are going to get a mac..Does anyone have one? Do you love it? Anything I should know while I shop for one?? Thanks :)
